The beginnings of the Novoť village date back to 1691, at first it was known under the name of Jurkov. To the attractions in the village are the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, North Orava Cutting Horse, where you can enjoy relaxing in the saddle, Gazdovský dvor, the look-out tower on Modlovo Mount and others. There is a path along the border with Poland, which you can use to reach Krawcowy wierch, at the end of which you can rest in a shepherd’s hut, the so-called BACOWKA. The border of the village with Poland is decorated with the so-called Delená voda (Divided Water), where two streams fl ow from one well, one fl ows through Poland to the Baltic Sea, the other as a tributary of the White Orava to the Black Sea.
