Beňatina is located in the upper part of the valley of the stream of the same name in the Popriečna basin at an altitude of about 410 m with an area of 1864 hectares. The fi rst written mention comes from 1333.
The village Beňatina is known to visitors thanks to a lake with a magical atmosphere, which is known as the Beňatina Quarry. It served four decades to mine limestone. When the construction activity subsided, groundwater pushed to the surface, creating a seaside scenery. The turquoise color of the water attracts tourists, but the depth of the lake is suitable only for experienced swimmers. Legend has it that the quarry hides a whale. Her silhouette appeared on the south side after the last shot. Above the quarry, there is a ZIPLINE cable slide, which is a great adrenaline experience.
