The first written mention of the Kolinovce village dates back to 1312. The foundation of the fi rst known settlement Villa Colini is attributed to the scrivener Kolin from Gelnica. In 1404, the king Sigismund of Luxembourg donated Kolinovce to the rectory Spišské Vlachy. On the bridge in the village, the toll belonging to the Spiš Castle was chosen. The oldest buildings in the village are the classicist church of Saint Francis of Assisi from 1830 and the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk from the same period. There were various organizations and associations in the village. So far, the Voluntary Fire Brigade, celebrating the 115th anniversary, and the folk group Kalina, which is active since 1965, were preserved. Every year, we organize The Kolinov Folklore Festival, where folklorists and spectators gather from the wide surrounding and from abroad. The newcomers in the village are the Kennel Club and in winter the hockey team Slovan Kolinovce, playing in the municipal hockey league of Spišské Vlachy. The village, located in the east of Lower Zips region in Hornád Fold, has 570 inhabitants and 160 homes in average.
