The village got its name from the Russian word „Inoj“, which means and proves that the fi rst inhabitants of the village were Russians (Russines). These inhabitants lived on the territory of former Hungary under the Carpathian Mountains. They founded the church on a hill near the village, it is diffi cult to say in what year it was, but it is certain that it was built in time, when people did not know the nail or the sawmill. Proof of this was that the old woods were only cut with an ax and used wooden stamps instead of nails. The inhabitants of the village were engaged in cattle breeding, as there were forests and meadows in the whole area. In the village there is a wooden church of St. Michael the Archangel from 1836, which is declared the National Cultural Monument.
